Welcome to
The Stony Meet-up

The Stony Meet-up exists to better connect
individuals, businesses, and the community at
large to opportunities related to the construction
and operation of the Obama Presidential Center
Program & Athletics Center.

Community members can visit the space to
access information related to the project,
participate in career development workshops,
learn about apprenticeship programs, meet with
representatives from Elevate Design Build Group
and the Obama Foundation, and more.

Fostering Diversity, Equity & Inclusion

Diverse Business
Resource Center

We’re on a mission to cultivate a new, more inclusive era of construction in Chicago. By pledging to award atleast 50% of subcontractor packages to diverse businesses, we aim to open doors for the next generation of diverse businesses.

Through The Stony Meet-up, underrepresented businesses can get connected to representatives from our operations, procurement, and diversity and inclusion teams in one-on-one meetings. Elevate Design Build Group uses the feedback from these sessions to plan workshops designed for entrepreneurs, such as Accounting for Construction Businesses, Micro-Lending Programs, and Small Business Resources.

To schedule your business for a One-On-One with Elevate Design Build, complete a Vendor/Subcontractor Inquiry form.

Connecting with Community

Community Partnerships

Elevate Design Build is dedicated to ensuring that the construction of the Obama Presidential Center Program & Athletic Center has a lasting impact on the community and its residents that extends far beyond the center itself.

Working with several community partners, Elevate Design Build is ensuring interested individuals are connected to training programs, apprenticeship programs, and construction-related employment and contracting opportunities.

We’re working with the We Can Build It consortium — which consists of Chicago Women in Trades, Hire 360, Revolution Workshop and St. Paul Development Ministries — to help create a pipeline of diverse, local talent that can join us on the OPCAC worksite and other construction projects across Chicago.

“We believe that genuine community engagement come from being collaborative. Our vision for The Meetup is for it to be a place where community members can come together to learn about the project and its opportunities. We also see it as a hub for the community to connect with industry professionals.”
